What are
R&D credits?
The R&D Tax Credit is a federal incentive enacted in 1981 to encourage U.S. companies to invest in innovation and technological advancement. It became permanent law in 2016 under the P.A.T.H. Act.
Companies that develop new or improved products, processes, software, or designs may qualify to claim a credit against their federal income taxes—essentially getting paid by the government to innovate.
Qualifying Activities
Companies qualify if they are:
- •Developing new or improved processes or products
- •Building new software platforms or interfaces
- •Experimenting with new materials, coatings, or designs
- •Developing prototypes or automated production lines
Qualified Expenditures
Credits can include:
- •Wages: Direct research and supervision costs
- •Contractor Costs: 65% of subcontractor expenses
- •Supplies & Materials: Raw materials used in R&D
- •Cloud Computing: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud costs

How does the $25 appointment + $25 Dreams score pay work?+
You earn $25 for every qualified R&D appointment you set and $25 for every Dreams score you complete — both regardless of whether the deal closes. They stack on top of tiered commission, not against it.
What is the cross-sale income split?+
Any cross-sale income you generate is split 50/50 with the company. Enter the number of cross-sales and the total cross-sale income for the month in the calculator to see your share added on top of appointment pay and tiered commission.
How do the monthly tiers work in plain English?+
Tiers apply to each month's closed gross revenue and reset on the 1st. You earn 5% on your first $50k of monthly volume, 10% on the next $50k, 20% on the next $50k, 30% on the next $50k, and 40% on every dollar above $200k for the month.
If gross revenue per close is $10,000, how much is one close worth?+
At 5% on the entry tier, a $10k close pays $500 in commission. As you climb the monthly ladder that same $10k close pays $1,000 (10%), $2,000 (20%), $3,000 (30%), and $4,000 (40%).
What close ratio should I plan around?+
Conservatively model 20–30% on warm, qualified appointments. Senior setters with strong qualification routinely run higher. The calculator lets you slide the ratio so you can see both ends.
When does pay settle?+
Appointment pay and commission settle monthly on cleared volume. Specific payout terms are covered in your offer letter.
Are agents W-2 employees or independent contractors?+
All agents in the program are independent contractors. You'll use Dreams Business Cloud software to access and follow up with leads. Your recruiter will walk you through the onboarding process.
What about the Dreams network and agent overrides?+
All agents in the Dreams network are compensated through our system. Uplines and marketing partners earn overrides for recruiting and supporting reps in the program. Specific override structures are detailed in your partner agreement.
Will I get paid overrides if my team joins the program?+
Yes, all overrides are paid to upline and agency partners. When your team members join and generate revenue, you earn override compensation on their activity. Details on override structures and payment schedules are provided in your partner agreement.
